We are by appointment only.   Please visit our page to schedule your preliminary consultation. 


We aim to provide our patients with the highest quality of treatment and wellness care. In an effort to eliminate unused appointments we have a 24 hour cancellation policy.  By canceling your appointment at least 24 hours in advance, we are able to provide needed treatment to other patients by re-booking the vacant slot.  No-shows and same-day cancellations, and cancellations less than 24 hours will be charged 100% of reserved treatment fee.  We reserve the right to terminate services with three late or same-day cancellations (of a non-emergency nature).    

fee-for-service vs insurance-driven practices:

Since opening its doors in 2013, Phoenix Moon Acupuncture & Apothecary has operated on the principle of fee for service, thus, guaranteeing our time is spent with you and not with insurance companies.  Large, insurance-driven practices where acupuncture or dry-needling (which is illegal in NC) is provided are often required to see 3 to 4 patients in an hour to increase reimbursement and meet costs.

We believe in quality care over the quantity of care. The extra time we give to our patients allows for better overall outcomes, faster results, and a more valued experience.

Out-of-network acupuncture is covered by some insurance companies. Understanding your deductibles and co-pays can help keep you in charge of your care. 

An itemized invoice with appropriate insurance codes will be provided should you chose to file a claim with your insurance company. Once your claim has been submitted, the required turnaround time is approximately 4 weeks.


Flex-spending and HSA accounts cover acupuncture.  We accept all HSA and flex-spending cards.  


Our facilities are quiet and calm.  We ask that your silence or turn off your cell phones in an effort to help you relax and settle into a healing space.  


We are currently in the process of therapy training our pup, Sadie Grey.  As such, she is occasionally in the office during the last two appointments of the day.  If you prefer a non-pup treatment time, please schedule during the earlier times on the schedule.  Sadie Grey has had all vaccinations and shots.
